Supporting schools with Teacher Totes
ECE employees loved seeing all the smiling faces when we delivered totes stuffed with school supplies to six local elementary schools this fall.
Prompted by reports about the perennial need for supplies in our school classrooms, we reached out to Braham, Rush City, Hinckley, East Central, Ogilvie and Milaca elementary schools with our new community initiative, dubbed Teacher Totes.
The initiative represents a collaborative effort by ECE employees from every department, who worked together to purchase and sort the supplies, assemble and deliver the totes. In addition to a corporate contribution from ECE, the Teacher Totes project was made possible by a matching grant from CoBank, a financial institution that supports the work of electric cooperatives in communities nationwide through their Sharing Success program.
As a Touchstone Energy® cooperative, Commitment to Community is a core value of ECE. We have a vital interest in the communities we serve and believe it’s important for the co-op to support local schools, organizations and programs that enhance the overall quality of life for our members.
Teachers from East Central Schools, Finlayson, MN, received classroom supplies from ECE's Teacher Totes program.
