Operation Round Up Grants - April 2015

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Chisago County Senior Citizens’ Board on Aging (North Branch, MN), $2,000 to assist with the purchase of a commercial dishwasher.

Family Pathways (North Branch, MN), $3,000 to assist with the operation of a mobile food truck.

Gilman Park and Rec Association (Foley, MN), $2,000 to help purchase new playground equipment, giving the families who use the playground more options.

Isanti County Safety & Rescue (Cambridge, MN), $2,000 to assist with the purchase/lease of a new Ford Expedition. The vehicle will be used as an all-purpose vehicle that can be equipped with necessary safety and rescue equipment.

Isanti Fire District (Isanti, MN), $2,000 to help purchase flame-resistant, high-visibility safety vests. These vests are part of an effort to reduce the number of injuries sustained by emergency personnel while on-scene.

Mille Lacs Lake Historical Society (Isle, MN), $667.20 to assist with the purchase of materials needed to reconstruct a bell tower for the old school building.

Parkland Volunteer Fire Department (South Range, WI), $2,164 to purchase a new forcible entry saw and a vent/rescue saw, allowing the department to replace old equipment that does not have the required safety features.

Pine City Blue Star Moms Chapter 16 (Pine City, MN), $3,000 to furnish a room at the Eagle’s Healing Nest, a home for veterans who suffer from the “invisible wounds of war.”

Pine City Senior Citizens (Pine City, MN), $2,000 to purchase shingles and other materials necessary to re-shingle the senior center.

Rush City Fire Department (Rush City, MN), $1,700 for the purchase of an AED/defibrillator unit.


DISASTER RELIEF

American Red Cross (Minneapolis, MN), $2,000 to support the American Red Cross Home Fire Relief program, which provides for the immediate needs of those who have lost their homes to fires.

EDUCATION AND YOUTH

Boy Scouts of America (Sartell, MN), $750 to purchase equipment for a traveling shooting sports trailer used by participants in the shooting sports program. The program is designed to provide a positive experience for youth while promoting safe and ethical use of firearms.

Braham Area Girl Scouts (Braham, MN), $2,000 to help fund their annual 5K Color Run/Walk.

Braham Area School Preschool Program (Braham, MN), $3,153 to help fund the Preschool Family Tuition Assistance program. The program’s purpose is to offer scholarships to local families in need or experiencing financial hardships with their child’s preschool tuition.

Moose Lake High School Prom Committee (Moose Lake, MN), $1,000 to help fund Moose Lake High School’s prom-related activities.

Pine County Thunderin’ Toms (Pine City, MN), $750 to help purchase equipment for the Pine City High School trap shooting team.

Rush City Senior All-Night Party Lock-in (Rush City, MN), $1,000 to help pay for food, entertainment and gifts for the celebration for the graduating class.
