July 2018 Grants
The Operation Round Up Trust Board met on July 23 and awarded the following grants:
Community Service
Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MAC-V), Duluth: $2,000 to help with catering costs for a fundraising dinner being held for Mille Lacs County.
Mora Food Pantry: $1,500 to help with costs for shelving and other items that will make the food shelf more accessible.
North Star Family Advocacy Center, Braham: $4,000 to install a secure door for the protection of staff and advocacy center clients.
Solon Springs, WI, Volunteer Fire Department: $3,030 to purchase portable radios to improve communication during fire calls.
Community Service award total: $10,530
Education and Youth
Central Minnesota Boy Scout Council, Sartell: $500 to help reduce the cost per student for their upcoming Lion, Tiger, Wolf Event.
District 5M8 Lions, Zimmerman: $2,000 to purchase UV sunglasses for students as an incentive for getting their eyes screened.
Princeton Public Schools: $4,000 to help purchase hearing screening equipment.
Education and Youth award total: $6,500
Emergency Assistance
The Salvation Army, Roseville: $3,000 to help ECE families with heating and utility costs.
