Connected 24/7: Hazard-tree removal helps
To protect line crews and the public, and to be proactive in reducing long-duration power outages, ECE identifies and removes hazard trees on its system.
The trees are identified by certified arborists as part of our routine line patrols. These high-risk trees are dead, dying, leaning or structurally defective. They often fall from outside the established power line corridor onto ECE’s lines. They can be the cause of service interruptions, line damage, fires and other safety concerns.
Hazard trees are marked with red paint or ribbon if they are scheduled for removal. They are removed without notification, unless they are in a home landscape. Tree debris is left on site for member use or disposal.
