Our Current Rates
Here is a quick, easy way to check our current rates and any necessary fees. We've broken our rates into seasons and per killowatt-hour. Please let us know if you have any questions.
  • Monthly cost of basic service charge is $16.
  • Winter (September - May) energy charge is 10.4 cents per kilowatt-hour.
  • Summer (June, July and August) charge is 11.9 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Summer energy charges: Energy charges are higher in June, July and August because demand peaks during those months drive up power costs and require added investments to serve the higher demand.

Power Cost Adjustment: The power cost adjustment is a variable-rate charge that is billed to East Central Energy by our power supplier, Great River Energy (GRE). Part of this monthly power cost adjustment covers the costs of new peaking facilities. Having these plants in place helps reduce the need to buy power on the open market.

To help avoid those peaks and save money through conservation, check out ECE reduced rate programs (click on Reduced Rate Programs menu item at left) such as Cycled Air and Energy Storage Water Heating. Then contact an ECE trusted energy advisor to discover how to squeeze the most out of your electricity dollars.
