ECE Operation Round Up
grants top $50,000 in spring cycle
April 2010
Three volunteer fire
departments and a first responder squad will have
the funds they need to purchase lifesaving
equipment, and the Pine City Library Foundation
received a boost for its library expansion project,
thanks to the generosity of ECE members.
Twenty-two local
organizations received funding from ECE's Operation
Round UpĀ® (ORU) in the spring grant cycle. More than
$50,000 was distributed April 27 by the ECE members
who serve on the independent ORU Trust Board.
Operation Round Up is made possible by ECE members
who agree to have their monthly electric bill
rounded up to the next dollar. The trust board meets
quarterly to review grant applications submitted by
non-profit organizations which serve ECE members and
to disburse funding.
