Project GreenTouch leaves volunteers tired but
content
Friendly banter over steaming cups of morning
coffee, busy shovels, scratching rakes, crunching
brush…and smiles of satisfaction at the end of a day
well spent.
East Central Energy’s (ECE) Project GreenTouch left
60 volunteers tired but content on May 2 after they
spent the day sprucing up Father Hennepin State Park
in Isle, MN and Pattison Park in Superior, WI.
ECE members and employees participated in the 10th
annual event, completing chores such as raking,
picking up trash, clearing brush, and at Father
Hennepin Park, installing landscape timbers and a
new sand surface for the beach play area.
Staff at both parks coordinated the projects and
worked with the volunteers. ECE provided coffee and
rolls in the morning and a tasty lunch at noon.
Project GreenTouch is a partnership between
Minnesota’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives and the
Minnesota State Park system. ECE’s GreenTouch
sponsorship accents the importance the cooperative
places on environmental stewardship and demonstrates
its commitment to community and the other Touchstone
Energy values of accountability, integrity and
innovation.
