Requests from seven community service groups funded

Braham, Minn. - In its autumn 2005 grants, East Central Energy's Operation Round Up® Trust Board funded requests for $11,053 from seven community service groups in areas served by ECE.

Recipients of funds include: Braham Community Education -- $1,450; Braham Community Education pre-school - $900; Isle High School/ FACS class -- $1,453; Harris Fire Department -- $3,000; Isanti Human Rights -- $250; Pine Technical College -- $2,000; Rum River Interfaith Caregivers -- $2,000.

Operation Round Up is funded by ECE members who voluntarily have their electric bill rounded up each month to the next whole dollar. Donated funds are distributed by an independent trust board which meets quarterly to review requests for donations.

East Central Energy, www.eastcentralenergy.com, is a member-owned electric cooperative that serves more than 55,000 homes, farms and businesses in east central Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. In addition to electric service, ECE provides long distance and Internet access.
