What strengths would you bring to the cooperative's Board of Directors?
Post graduate degrees in engineering and physics enable me to understand all energy technologies. Experience from 22 years on advanced energy technologies of isotope separation, laser fusion, higher efficiency lighting and seven years on programs with U.S. semiconductor industry. Knowledge of options for energy production and availability of fossil fuels.
What is the biggest challenge facing ECE in the coming years?
Supply of all fossil fuels, including coal, is declining so production of low cost electricity by ECE will require careful planning. As a consequence, development of realistic alternative methods by ECE for producing electricity is essential, including cost tradeoffs and lead times for implementation.
Why do you want to serve as an ECE Director?
My wife and I were born in Minnesota, our residence is a Minnesota Century farm which has been a customer of ECE since its beginning. My experience in energy technology and methods for energy production will enable me to assist ECE in implementing realistic technology for the supply of electricity.

Married 42 years, Navy veteran, Hamline University graduate, played basketball, baseball for Hamline University. Wife, University of Minnesota graduate, taught in St. Paul schools.

What strengths would you bring to the cooperative's Board of Directors?
Being a retired CPA, I would bring my financial expertise to the board. My environmental concern for clean air and water. I sell residential air and water purifiers. My concern for a healthy, robust east central community working for the improvement of all.
What is the biggest challenge facing ECE in the coming years?
Continue monitoring costs of electric power to keep rates at the lowest possible cost for members and maintain the high class of service. Continue to look into alternate sources of power such as wind, methane and hydrogen.
Why do you want to serve as an ECE Director?
Continue the outstanding service to member-owners. As a member of the east central community,
I would work for cooperation with business, education and government.

What strengths would you bring to the cooperative's Board of Directors?
I'm recently retired from my 30-year USDA career, bringing 16 years of experience devoted to rural economic and natural resource development projects in east central Minnesota. I've worked with businesses, farmers and groups developing alternative energy projects. I am a good listener and not afraid to ask questions.
What is the biggest challenge facing ECE in the coming years?
Embracing new mandates for renewable energy and promoting energy conservation while continuing to provide electricity at competitive prices to ECE members and businesses.
Why do you want to serve as an ECE Director?
I have been a member of ECE cooperative for more than 30 years. I understand and respect the concepts and principles behind the cooperative movement. I believe I have something to offer and I wish for the opportunity to pay back the cooperative for the high-quality service I've received.

What strengths would you bring to the cooperative's Board of Directors?
Retired, have time to attend meetings and workshops. Well known in district. Lived in house 49 years. Good Christian values.
What is the biggest challenge facing ECE in the coming years?
To see we have a good supply of energy. Keep company financially strong with great representation.
Why do you want to serve as an ECE Director?
See that we have a good supply of energy at a reasonable price. To represent my district to the best of my ability. To keep my district well informed as to what is going on financially and governmental issues.
