ECE Capital Credits Refund
Nov 21, 2008
ECE returns over $1 million
in Capital Credits
BRAHAM, MN-The East Central Energy (ECE) Board of
Directors has announced that the cooperative is
returning over $1 million to its members this fall
in the form of Capital Credits refunds.
Members who have been customers of ECE for more than
one year will receive a Capital Credits refund.
Their bill will include a bold blue line that says,
"Capital Credits Refund," showing the amount that
has been applied to their bill.
Capital Credits represent patronage dividends which
the board of directors of the cooperative, acting
under statutory authority, has elected to allocate
to patrons. Each year, the ECE Board of Directors
determines if there will be a refund, and if so,
what portion can be refunded. The Capital Credits
refund is based on the total amount a member paid
for electricity.
Members who have moved off of the ECE system will
receive a Capital Credits refund check which will be
mailed to the address ECE has on file. Former
members should call ECE at 1-800-254-7944 if they
believe the co-op does not have their current
address.
A Capital Credits contest is being held again this
year, and all members who receive a Capital Credits
refund are encouraged to participate. The entry form
is enclosed with this month's bill. Members who
complete and return the entry form will be entered
in a drawing for one of five $100 energy
certificates. Entries must be received by January 2,
2009. Winners will be announced in the Co-op
Advantage newsletter.
