Bill Definitions
Cost of basic service: A charge for the ongoing expenses associated with providing service to a location.

Kwh charge: The amount of your bill for the kilowatt hours used during the month.

Demand charge: A charge based on a consumer’s maximum kilowatt use: a charge for the peak demand placed on the system.

Power factor: The fraction of power actually used by the customer’s equipment compared to the total apparent power supplied, usually expressed as a percentage.

Power Cost Adjustment: A charge implemented when necessary to recoup wholesale power costs beyond what is included in the current rates. This charge may vary throughout the year.
